Abu Simbel is not visited by sailing a conventional Luxor–Aswan cruise ship directly to the temples. It is normally a separately arranged road or flight excursion from Aswan; Lake Nasser cruising is a different product.
Ask whether the add-on includes transport, guiding and admission, and how it fits the vessel’s departure. Compare the whole service rather than only the excursion name.
An itinerary that says optional Abu Simbel does not include the excursion automatically. The final quotation should settle the distinction.
In Aswan, boats and road transport often need to be coordinated. A central hotel, an island property and a West Bank guesthouse can involve different meeting arrangements. Send the full address and ask who organises any river crossing. An Abu Simbel excursion also needs a workable road schedule, especially when a cruise departs later the same day. Avoid treating a published itinerary as proof that a particular ship or transfer is available on your date.
